Sergeant Major Alejandro Garcia Jr.

Sergeant Major Garcia enlisted in the Marine Corps and attended recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation from Recruit Training, Private Garcia reported to the School of Infantry, Camp Geiger, North Carolina, and earned the primary MOS of 0331 (Infantry Machine Gunner). 

Private Garcia reported to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he deployed to Okinawa, Japan. Corporal Garcia deployed on the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Sergeant Garcia was assigned to Recruiting Station San Antonio, Sub Station Austin South. Sergeant Garcia was selected as the Recruiting Station Recruiter of the Year. Sergeant Garcia was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant.

Staff Sergeant Garcia was assigned to 2d Battalion, 2d Marines, Weapons Company. Staff Sergeant Garcia deployed in support of OEF to Helmand Providence, Afghanistan.

Staff Sergeant Garcia deployed with 2d Battalion, 6th Marines, Fox Company in support of OEF in Helmand Providence, Afghanistan. Staff Sergeant was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. 

Gunnery Sergeant Garcia was assigned to 2d Battalion, 2d Marines, Weapons Company, where he deployed with the 22nd MEU in support of Unified Protector. 

Gunnery Sergeant Garcia received orders to Marine Corps Combat Instructor School, School of Infantry West. Gunnery Sergeant Garcia was promoted to First Sergeant. 

First Sergeant Garcia received orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 7, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, MCAGCC Twenty-Nine Palms, California. 

First Sergeant Garcia was selected as the Director of the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, MCAGCC Twenty-Nine Palms, California.

Sergeant Major Garcia assumed the duties as the Squadron Sergeant Major for VMU-3, MAG-24, 1st MAW.  
 
Sergeant Major Garcia assumed the duties as the Squadron Sergeant Major for VMM-268, MAG-24, 1st MAW and deployed to Australia as the Aviation Combat Element Sergeant Major of Marine Rotational Force Darwin.  
  
Sergeant Major Garcia assumed the duties as the Battalion Sergeant Major for 7th Engineer Support Battalion. 

Sergeant Major Garcia assumed the duties as Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Sergeant Major. 

Sergeant Major Garcia has a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management. A Master’s of Science in Leadership and a Master’s of Science in Homeland Security with a concentration in Emergency and Disaster Management. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (three gold stars in lieu of fourth award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (one gold star in lieu of second award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three gold stars in lieu of fourth award), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (one silver and one bronze star in lieu of seventh award).
