U.S. Marines with the All-Marine Softball Teams, both male and female, participate in a scrimmage at the 14 Area Softball Fields at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, August 2, 2024. These teams are comprised of Marines who travel to Camp Pendleton for tryouts and practice sessions, ultimately competing in the Armed Forces Softball Tournament in Oklahoma. The All-Marine Sports Program has produced athletes who have achieved national rankings and even represented the United States in the Olympics. The Miramar Air Station Falcons claimed a 19-8 victory in their opening game of the season against the 1st Marine Division Headquarters Battalion Standard Bearers at the Paige Field House football field here, Aug. 26. The night was a grueling contest starring two defenses that consistently forced fumbles throughout the night.
