U.S. Marines with Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, host the 80th annual Evening Colors Ceremony at the Santa Margarita Ranch House on Camp Pendleton, California, Sept. 15, 2022. The ceremony was held to commemorate the official dedication of Camp Pendleton, which took place in September 1942. The base was named after Maj. Gen. Joseph H. The Camp Pendleton Historical Society conducted a dedication ceremony for an 1890 Conestoga wagon at the Santa Margarita Ranch House on Camp Pendleton, Calif., April 2, 2018. The wagon, donated by CPHS and crafted by retired U. S. Army Lt.Col. Andy Brochu, master wheelwright, replaces one presented to the commanding general of Camp Pendleton in 1987 by the Padre Juniper Serra Riders in appreciation for preserving the western heritage of the rancho.
