Ryan P. Sturgeon, electrician, Independent Energy Systems Inc., puts the finishing touches on the recently installed solar panels atop the Las Pulgas artillery shelter at Camp Pendleton, May 15. During the first Marine Corps Energy Summit in 2009, U.S. Marine Corps commandant, General James T. Conway, mandated every installation across the Corps increase renewable electric energy 25 percent by 2025.
