Heather Guerrero, the regional sexual assault prevention and response coordinator for Marine Corps Installations West, explains the mission of the SAPR program on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, April 5, 2022. The SAPR program on Camp Pendleton is focused on addressing the needs of military members and their families who have been victims of sexual assault and provide relevant training on a regular basis to Marines and sailors across the base. The SAPR office is located in the Marine and Family Program Headquarters building of the 13 Area on Camp Pendleton. There is never a wrong time to report a crime such as sexual assault, it is the job of every member aboard the base to speak up for survivors and speak out against sexual assault. Camp Pendleton Marines raise awareness through art
As part of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton hosted a "Chalk the Walk" competition April 1-20. Artists from multiple units created chalk murals outside of their barracks and command posts on base, each representing the theme "Protecting Our People Protects Our Mission." In 2019, Camp Pendleton had a total of 101 fires that burned approximately 4,533 acres. As summer begins, it is everyone’s responsibility to help prevent fires this summer. Making the fire breaks
Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton personnel have been busy this year refreshing the over 160 miles of firebreaks at various locations throughout the base these fire breaks are designed to better manage fires on the installation by cutting off the spread of fires. Every year MCB Camp Pendleton encounters more than 100 fires that burn thousands of acres.
