Jerry Ackerman and Jack Gutman, two former U.S. Navy corpsmen who served during World War II, visit Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, June 27, 2022. In 1944 Jack and Jerry became best friends while training on Camp Pendleton only to be separated during World War II without knowing of each other's whereabouts until 75 years later.
