Helo-Borne Raid

Students with the Infantry Unit Leader Course recently conducted a helo-borne raid where they inserted via UH-60 Seahawks in order to capture and evacuate a ‘high value target.’ This was the culminating event of the 11-week training course for infantry staff noncommissioned officers. The training is designed to develop the doctrinal skills required of a rifle platoon sergeant or weapons section- leader and to improve student tactical decision-making and leadership skills. Remembering Beirut

On October 23, 1983, at around 06:22 Beirut time, a stake-bed truck carrying explosives drove directly into the 1st Battalion, 8th Marines barracks in Beirut, Lebanon and exploded. The force of the explosion collapsed the four-story building into rubble, crushing to death 241 American servicemen, majority of them being U.S. Marines. The Marines were part of a Multi-National Peacekeeping Force meant to oversee the peaceful withdrawal of the Palestine Liberation Organization from Lebanon. (U.S. Marine Corps Video by LCpl. Resident Energy Conservation Program

The Resident Energy Conservation Program (RECP) is the result of Department of Defense (DoD) initiative that has been implemented in all Public-Private Venture (PPV) family housing units aboard all Marine Corps installations. The RECP supports the Marine Corps energy strategy by encouraging energy conservation and reducing electricity costs. The RECP program is fully implemented at Camp Pendleton. Residents within +/- 10% of the average usage for their type home will have no cost impact. Residents using less energy than the +/- 10% average will be rewarded with cash/credit. Residents using more energy than the +/- 10% average are billed for that usage in excess of the normal usage buffer zone. For questions about your utility bill, please call Yes Energy Management.
